Offering Deselected, Injured and Retired football players free support
Film director, creator of Sidelined, Ben Marlow and Counsellor/ Researcher Rich Wilkinson have collaborated to create the Sidelined Website and social platforms, offering free support for players and families who experience Deselection from football. We offer a community where you can share your stories, interact with others in similar situations and seek professional advice for mental health support through counselling, Sport Against Suicide or the Samaritans. Our mission
Our passion lies in supporting people with similar experiences to the players in the sidelined documentary. We aim to bring people together, spread awareness around this subject and provide help and support to ex-players who have exited the game. When you are first released from a football academy or club, the first 21 days can be crucial to your mental health, and If no help or guidance is available can cause psychological distress. We want to connect with you and your families to support you through this challenging period in your life. The support that you deserve.
